Small Pools: Making the Most of Mini Backyards

April 22, 2019

Tips for Small Backyards

Location, location, location. Consider the layout that you’re working with. Narrow backyards make for long, thin pools. Square backyards lend themselves to hot tubs and whirlpools. Take a look at our portfolio of project ideas to get some inspiration!

Add Water Features

You can use a pool for decoration just as much as function. Waterfalls keep the pool from remaining stagnant and attracting unwanted debris. A fountain can be put anywhere within the pool as well. This provides visual interest.

Choose a Training and Exercise Pool

A small pool doesn’t just have to be for recreation. You can use it for exercise instead. Swimming works all your muscle groups so it’s a great addition to any existing routine. Lap pools are a good choice if you want to practice your strokes. Current pools help you tread water in place.

Keep Safety in Mind

Pools are fun for everyone, but they also need to be safe. This is especially true for younger children who often have more energy than they know what to do with! Put up fencing that’s at least 4 feet high around the pool area, and install a self-closing/self-latching gate. Make sure that there’s a responsible individual around to supervise at all times.

A swimming pool could be the exact thing your landscape is missing. It’s never to early to start daydreaming about how it will fit in. Now it’s time to make that a reality.

Pools are a major component of any landscape and Ambrosio Landscape Solutions will consider function along with aesthetics and will address all parts of the permit process with town municipalities. Contact us today!
