Maintenance Tips for a Beautiful Spring Landscape

Is your yard summer-ready?  Now that warm weather is finally here, it’s time to start clearing your yard so that you and your family can enjoy it on beautiful days.  Here are a few property maintenance tips from HGTV to help you get started on your springtime chores.  Of course, we’re always here to help make maintenance simple no matter what the size of your property.

Spring Property Maintenance Tips:

  • Check Your Gutters – Winter can be harsh on your gutters.  Check for leaks and make sure that the gutters are clear.  This will help drain water away from your home on rainy spring days.
  • Avoid Yard Flooding – Low areas in the yard or foundation should be filled with compacted soil.  Spring rains can cause yard flooding, you want to avoid water pools in these low areas in the warmer months.
  • Check Outside Faucets – Check outdoor hose faucets before turning them on this spring.  It was a cold winter, and it’s possible that your outdoor hose has damage.  Turn on the water and place your finger over the opening.  If you can stop the flow of water, then it’s likely that your pipe has a leak.
  • Inspect Concrete – Look for signs of cracks or movement. Exterior concrete should drain away from your home’s foundation.
